As long as I know myself I have always wanted to go to Santorini. It has been said that the sunsets on this island are the best in the world. With breathtaking views of the volcano and the neighboring islands, with miles of dark sandy beaches, with small domed churches and remnants of days gone by, Santorini seems to be a truly white paradise.
Since in the first months of the year I saved some money especially for this purpose, I’ve started to plan my long awaited relaxing holiday in Santorini. And as you probably know, the planning process requires a lot of decisions to be taken: what resort should I choose, what period, type of room and even what type of travel insurance should be more convenient. Since the first problems were solved, only the travel insurance remained to be decided.
After a little search for travel insurance online, I face a new dilemma: should I make temporary travel insurance just for the period of the holiday, or an annual one? I know that temporary travel insurances can usually be arranged also at the time of the booking of the trip to cover exactly the duration of that trip, and that the extensive one can be purchased from a travel insurance company or directly from the travel supplier or tour operator. But, the travel insurances purchased from travel suppliers tends to be less inclusive than the ones offered by insurance companies. And, as mentioned before, I am looking for a relaxing holiday in Santorini, without worries. To this end, I expect the insurance to take care of the following risks: medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation or interruption, delayed departure, loss, theft or damage of personal things and documents, delayed baggage and emergency replacement of essential items, legal assistance, or personal liability and rental car damage excess. Just to focus entirely on the beauty of the chosen destination…
Now, with no worries on my head, I am looking up for the trip to Greece, and more precisely to Santorini Island. Only the thought of getting there, got me really excited about this entire trip thing. So, I will stop searching around for travel insurances and go directly to the pros to purchase an annual one. Because you never know: in a few months I will probably plan another trip…
