Welcome 2010!

I would like to wish all of my readers a very Happy New Year! May 2010 bring you all the best of health, wealth, prosperity, love and happiness, and all your wishes come true.

Since 2009 said bye bye and today is the first day of 2010, I will take a look at the most important events to follow. In January, Spain will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Sweden and the tallest man-made structure ever built will be finished in Dubai. February is the planned month for the first flight of the SpaceX Falcon 9 commercial heavy lift launch vehicle.

World Expo will be held in Shanghai in May, June will bring a conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus, and July the total solar eclipse (visible only in the South Pacific and southern South America). August will bring, beside my birthday, the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.

The Netherlands Antilles is scheduled to be dissolved in October and the islands split up into a new constitutional status. The first Peruvian nanosatellite will be launched from Russia in November, and in December a total lunar eclipse will take place.
