5 of the Best Wine Spas around the World

The world's first official wine spa was opened in 1999 in the Bordeaux region of France. While the original vinotherapie treatments are available only at Caudalie-affiliated spas like Les Sources de Caudalie in France, wine treatments are incorporated into spa menus all around the world. Since these treatments are considered to firm the skin and slow down the aging process due to wine's high antioxidant content, the people became more and more interested in spending some quality time at a wine spa. To this end, I will present below five of the best wine spas.

Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa – Australia. Less than an hour's drive from Melbourne, the resort overlooks rolling vineyards on a private estate and houses the Natskin Spa Retreat. The estate is also home to spectacular hot air balloon flights over the picturesque region.

Patios de Cafayate Hotel and Spa – Argentina. This former colonial mansion shares the grounds with El Esteco Winery in the heart of the Calchaquí Valley, more than 5,500 feet above sea level.

Waterstone Spa – USA. Located in the Ashland, Oregon, wine country in a remodeled historic building, Waterstone Spa offers a place to escape and indulge with an assortment of treatments and packages.

Silver Star Mountain Resort & Spa – Canada. This fairytale village, inspired by a 19th century British Columbian miningtown era, is great for skiing in the winter, mountain biking in the summer, and the Vinotherapy treatments at the Beyond Wrapture Mind and Body Care Day Spa & Retreat year round.

Adler Thermae Spa Resort – Italy. Located in the heart of Tuscany, the Adler Thermae Spa Resort is surrounded by gently rolling hills, terraced vineyards and colorful meadows. Enjoy Tuscan cuisine and relax in their spa, which offers massage and exfoliation treatments using organic red grapes.
