If you have a blog, for sure that there is not a single week that passes by without asking yourself what topic to write about in your articles, or what information should you share. This dilemma called the writer’s block and it should be managed to get through it, every time.
And you are not the only one who goes this phase: all bloggers, and authors in general do too. In conclusion, how it is possible to find topics to write about, whether it is a blog or article or press release? The answer can be found right in this article. But before I go and tell you, let me explain a bit on how your brain works. Unlike a grocery store which manages stock on FIFO (First In First Out) basis, your brain manages it’s stock on LIFO (Last In First Out) basis. The information that comes out of your brain is greatly influenced by the last thing that went into it. To this end, in order to get valuable information out of your brain, you have to feed it with valuable information first. Below I will talk about two techniques which will help you to find topics for your writings.
Draw from your day’s experience. Every day teaches you a valuable lesson. All you have to do is reminisce how you day passed and what lessons you have learnt today. Search for the one that inspired you the most, or touched you the most. Once you find that piece of experience, just expand on it in your own word.
Read a book. If I don’t have any valuable lesson in my day’s experience, then I pick up a book and start reading. Once I have read for 10 to 15 minutes, I get enough information that I feel is valuable to share with the world. Read something that interests you deeply, and not just for the sake of reading something.
